Aruna Miller Calls both US and India to make "Citizens of the World":

Published: 10 Feb 2017 By AP Janmabhoomi Category: News

India-born American politician Aruna Miller enlightened the National Women's Parliament 2017 organized at Amaravati through her truly intense speech, which decoded the multicultural aspect of feminism both in India and in the US.

Starting with a life experience the only Telugu member of Maryland House of Delegates has gone through her down memory lane, she went one to explain about her father and his great American dream.

According to Miller, India's position in the table of "Women holding public office" is 145th which is only 12%. This unsatisfactory result can be made up very soon she hopes. India had the first woman chief minister and still continues her political journey with Mamata Banerjee and recently departed Jayalalitha, but the numbers for women's representation are still not pacifying.

From India, for a while, she moved to talk about the recent US presidential election expressing her regret for the party leader Hilary Clinton's election loss. Miller added some common aspects about working women and said that it takes seven times for a woman to decide to go for work. But ending up all those ambiguities, the Telugu-born American politician encouraged every woman to go for the first chance.

Quoting from one of the most inspirational and her favorite poems by Michael Josephson "What Will Matter" Mrs. Miller ended her speech with a hope of a new world, with a wish to consider everybody as the "Citizens of the World". "Road to progress and success", she added, "will be always under construction". Her multicultural viewpoint suggesting that all "women are the same" added a fresh dimension to her speech. Thanking the CM Shri. Chandrababu Naidu Garu, Mrs Miller bracketed her speech by saying "God bless the United States of America" and "Jay Hind".

How happy was the day? Sharing her happiness to be present at our cell, she made it a point to complement the Twitter campaign for the National Women's Parliament. Our hearts were warmed by the benevolence of her presence, and much ahead of this wonderful day, we shall continue to seek her blessing in making the APJanmabhoomi campaign an even bigger success.
