One of the important initiatives that government is focusing on is construction of Crematoriums, referred as Mahaprasthanam. We would like to bring awareness among NRI community on the need for one of the most essential facility for every village/town. Government is now matching upto 70% of donor contributions for these projects.
We request NRIs to come forward either individually or as a group to fund construction of crematorium in your native village/home town. The main focus areas are
Providing compound walls around the boundary
Providing a proper raised platform
A room for practicing the rituals
The work would be implemented and executed by the Gram Panchayat under the technical guidance of Panchayat Raj Engineering Department.
