The journey of a human life continues far beyond death, the body dies but the soul lives on. The last cremation rites in many parts of Andhra Pradesh take place unfashionably in the open fields, with many rural areas lacking the basic facilities to cremate their revered ones in a respectable designated space. To honor the deceased and bring some comfort to their loved ones, the Andhra Pradesh Government's Special Representative for North America Shri. Jayaram Komati is supervising the construction of proper burial grounds across the state.

Today, the Office of the Special Representative for North America visited Kollavaripalem village, Parchoor Mandal, Prakasam District to inspect the construction of one the 10 pilot crematorium projects. The objective of the visit was to interact with the locals concerning the project and also supervise the construction of the crematorium which will be equipped with a boundary wall, a platform, and a storeroom to be used by the family of the deceased.

The visit was supported by an engineer from the PR&RD department, the Mandal President, other members the local governing body and many other well-wishers from around the village.

The Special Representative for North America is keen on ensuring that all the funds that are being collected from the NRIs are used effectively and swiftly. We would love to thank Shri. Ashok Babu Kolla for donating towards the construction of a crematorium in the Kollavaripalem village. We endeavor to channelise the enthusiastic NRI support to construct around 1500 burial grounds around the state in the coming future. In that way, this project is going to bestow a lot of dignity in the way the last rites are conducted, thus ensuring a holistic development in the rural areas of Andhra Pradesh.
