Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school. So goes the quote by Einstein. A very popular figure who interestingly dropped out by college time, Einstein didn't mean to undermine the value of education at school, in fact, what he emphasized upon is how much humans need to actually enjoy and remember what they learn in classrooms.

Digital Classrooms Initiative for the Government Schools under the leadership of our Honorable Chief Minister Shri. N. Chandrababu Naidu and the supervision of the Special Representative of Andhra Pradesh Government for North America seeks to make learning fun for every child. Humans are visual creatures; they comprehend better through the eyes. If children are taught fundamental concepts using visual tools, they imbibe the knowledge more effectively is something that researchers all around the world verify.

And today, it is rather fortunate to find the same success stories resonating from the schools which benefitted from the first wave of digitalization in Andhra Pradesh. MCPS R.P. PETA Government School in Visakhapatnam is one of them. The headmaster of the school G.V. Ramana was very happy with the wave of new development that has completely transformed his school.

Noting the key changes consequent to the installation of the digital classroom, he commenced explaining how the digital equipment has captured the fascination of all the students who come to school, now more eager than ever to learn using the new methods. The new visual lessons containing songs, graphics, and animations have gained higher interest levels of the students, they have been voluntarily asking for more classes!

The faculty does note the greater retention capacities and improved creative thinking that these tools have made possible but what satisfies them a lot is how it has increased the attendance rates at school. Students have shown remarkable improvement within a short period and are even more disciplined at their lessons. This all have been made possible thanks to the benefits of learning using interactive digital means that has boosted student-teacher engagement so significantly.

The headmaster immensely praised the involvement of the communication interns, Kodidasu Sai Chandana and Bhagavathi Madhavi Latha from Andhra University who are providing hands-on training to the faculty at the school every week. With the concerted interest in holistically developing education at every center of learning, the communication interns help to expand the knowledge base that the APJanmabhoomi initiative, as planned by the Special Representative for North America, wants to diversify.

The faculty training modules include not just fundamental computer knowledge, but also instructions on digital learning tools like APEKX, GeoGebra, etc. It has been quite exciting till now, amassing generally favorable responses with both the faculty and the interns alike looking forward to developing digital literacy at schools.

The interns come from various colleges and from different fields, the only thing connecting all the interns is their passion for helping schools understand technology. These interns go through 3 months internship program, under the Special Representative for North America Office.

The M.C.P.S. R.P. Peta Digital classroom would not have been a success story without the contribution of the NRIs who funded and supported the installation of this classroom. Further thanks to the active interest of our revered Chief Minister Shri Chandrababu Naidu Garu who made this dream a reality. And special thanks to the concerted endeavors of Mr. Jayaram Komati, the Special Representative for North America who is making this possible.

We got funds for over 1000 schools so far and still need help for 5000 schools to get digitalized. There are over 8 crore NRIs in the world, and if everyone gets together to make the future of these children bright, then it would be dream come true for the students.

Through the steady spread of digitalization, very soon will the Einstein dream of good education be realized around the government schools all around the Sunrise State.
